Swedish Weaving is a very simple and straightforward form of needlework and can be mastered and enjoyed by all ages. Traditional Swedish weaving, also known as Huck weaving or Huck embroidery, became popular in America in the 1930s and '40s when crafters started using embroidery floss to decorate or enhance their white linens. This wonderful, almost lost, needlework form can be used to decorate not only towels, but also table runners, afghans, pillows, place mats, curtains, and more. Any even-weave fabric or store bought item can be embellished or created using the Swedish weave technique.
